this is help?
can i ask how is increasing GST gonna help the lower income group families? when buying daily necessities now (5%) already pose huge problem to them?? Is it just going to be solved by giving them more welfare help through giving them a few more hundred bucks to spend? isn't singapore what you call perhaps a first class society? yes. there is always the existence of the lower income group in a society and we ought to help them through but isnt there a better way to reallocate monetary resources then adjusting the indirect taxes? the high income group dont get affected much. a few hundred bucks increase to them is peanuts. in fact, they always benefit from these readjustments (coporate tax cut)
didnt the edu sys says "teach less, learn more" in this case it would be more appropriate to say "give less, experience more" to the lower income.
there is just too much emphasis on the lower income groups. what about the middle income? the mid-low income? these grey areas need the help but are often not thought of. they are almost always the ones affected the most in these new 'upgrade package'
"more fund is required for defence."
yes, with increase in terrorism and all theres a need to strengthen defend but isnt more than 60% of singapore's fund allocated to the defence sector?? hello 60%+ of billions??
America, world superpower nation, has its GST at 8% (perhaps 8+).
singapore is at 7%
are we THAT developed as them in the first place?
