dinosaurs extinction

A few weeks ago, ST published that scientists have finally discovered e reason for e extinction of dinosaurs.
the reason: An asteroid hit earth at an impact 1 billion times greater than the atomic bomb which exploded at Hiroshima. This resulted in a chain effect (earthquakes, eruptions etc) triggering global winter conditions.

"However, the final nail in the coffin for the dinosaurs happened when blasted material was ejected at high velocity into the atmosphere. This shrouded the planet in darkness and caused a global winter, killing off many species that couldn't adapt to this hellish environment."

Once again Darwinism theory triumphed, "the survival of the fittest".
The conseq: A rapid mass extinction of more than half the Earth's species.

Then it gave way to the rise of mammals and of course humans.

It made me wonder if 65million yrs ago, such asteroid could hit earth and wiped out the dominant dinosaurs, then 65m yrs later, can the same possible asteriod hit earth again and caused the extinction of the homosapiens? After all, the only bad deed the dinos did was eat up the other species, in addn to eating up other species arent we polluting the earth as well?

oh well. its just food for thought.
