famous inventors

i cant believe at age 18 i still get famous inventors names mixed up.
so i did a lil check on em in relation to the gp prelims TMR.
heres after checking wikipedia
thomas alva edison for the what every says the greatest invention: light bulb
Benjamin Franklin (fyi his face is on US dollar note) among many was the lightning rod.
Franklin never patented his inventions; in his autobiography he wrote, "[A]s we enjoy great advantages from the inventions of others, we should be glad of an opportunity to serve others by any invention of ours; and this we should do freely and generously."
this is what i call a people's inventor. not for fame but for the humanity of mankind.
James D Watson: struc of DNA (in particular discovering the nucleotide bp)
Alexander Graham Bell: telephone! (fyi he worked w thomas a edison too) (can you just visualise the splendid and fast paced developments of 1800s???)
Wright brothers: for flight

1800s was indeed a boom for d greatest inventions for mankind which came into effect 200yrs later. just marvel at the foresight of these great inventors. kudos to em.
from then on.. the rest of the inventions were modifications to the original inventions. eg telephone --- mobile phone.

i need to go read up on others stuff first.
the above info was extracted fr wikipedia. the inventions listed are 1 out of the many inventions they invented.
